About Me

I am Kim Rogers, the founder of The Butterfly Mind. A Mindset Coach, Mental Health First Aider, NLP practitioner and a dance teacher with a passion for teaching mindset, mental and physical wellbeing to the younger generation through creative means. 

My sole purpose is to help as many of our younger generation to navigate their way around their forever changing world with self-acceptance, empowerment and a sense of serenity and having a deep personal understanding of the need to gain self-belief and strength. 

I want to share my knowledge not only learnt from studies but from my own lived experiences too, as know I will make a difference to the many young lives I will reach.

My Story

The Caterpillar

I danced from the young age of 3 and after completing my training at a prestigious performing arts college in 1997, I had a wonderful career as a singer & dancer for many years, although the industry provided many challenges along the way.

In 2010 I began teaching freelance then in 2013 I proudly opened my own school.

However, I always had a desire within my own school to recreate the sense of security I felt during my childhood training yet without truly understanding the intentions.

 

Fast forward to 2017 and life was great, my dance school was growing, and I was happily married, yet I suddenly found myself struggling with the overwhelm of life which led to burnout and a breakdown.

This led me to seek external help in the form of a therapist where I began to look deep into the archives of my own life and unravel a core of unresolved anguish. It was during this time I noticed the many effects that my poor mental wellbeing was also having on my physical wellness.

So as someone who has always craved to learn, this sparked a new appetite to discover just how deeply intwined our mind and body is. And with that, I began to attend various webinars, read numerous self-help books, listen to podcasts and even studied NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) to help me learn to rebalance my own internal war.

I was just beginning to understand how to control the inner conflict when we hit a world pandemic and my mental health once again took a dip, only now, I noticed just how many of my own students were also struggling with their own mental

well-being.

So, I began to incorporate some of my new knowledge and skills within my classes and saw some remarkable results which further ignited the passion to learn more and further help my students.

So in 2021 I took the plunge to design a workshop to deliver within my own school, teaching the many aspects positive mindset and well-being and how to manage it through dance, movement, and creative tasks, and the outcome was remarkable and continues to be so.

 

Witnessing my own student's growth led me to realise that I wanted to reach out to many more of our young, sharing my knowledge and teaching the important skills that will set them to not only manage their way through childhood and adolescence but will also provide them with the tools to manage life's curve balls throughout adulthood too.

And so in 2022 ‘The Butterfly Mind’ was born.
