How Can I Help?

So many dance teachers and studio owners tell me the same thing: “My students are anxious, perfectionistic, or lacking in confidence and I don’t know how to help".

It’s not because you’re not a brilliant teacher. It’s because teaching dance goes deeper than technique, it touches mindset, wellbeing, and the way young people see themselves.

That’s why I created The Butterfly Mind, to support both students and teachers with the skills, strategies, and confidence they need to thrive.​

The Challenges We’re Tackling

From my years of teaching, coaching, and training, I’ve seen the biggest struggles young dancers face:

  • Low self-esteem and lack of self-awareness

  • Pressure to please teachers and parents

  • Constant comparison to their peers

  • Perfectionism that risks injury or burnout

  • Anxiety that impacts performance and enjoyment

But it isn’t only the students who struggle.

Teachers themselves often feel overwhelmed, isolated, and under pressure, carrying the weight of everyone else’s needs without the right tools or support to look after their own wellbeing.

For a long time, I didn’t fully understand this side of teaching either. It’s only through my own experiences of burnout and rebuilding that I realised just how much support educators need too. And that’s why I now dedicate my work to helping both teachers and students thrive,  together.

The Butterfly Mind Academy

 

The membership is a supportive space created exclusively for dance teachers who want to look after their own wellbeing while nurturing the wellbeing of their students.

Teaching can be emotionally demanding, from managing busy studios to supporting young dancers through their own challenges, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or alone.

Inside the Academy, you’ll find practical tools, mindset strategies, and a community that helps you grow with confidence, clarity, and calm.​

 Wings Of Wisdom 1:1 Coaching

 

Whether you're a teacher feeling overwhelmed or a young dancer needing support, 1:1 coaching offers a safe, gentle space to pause, reflect, and reset. Sessions explore mindset, boundaries, confidence, emotional wellbeing, and the pressures that come with teaching or training in dance.

Together, we build practical tools that help you feel calmer, stronger, and more equipped, both inside and outside the studio.

I can not recommend Kim highly enough. Our Butterfly Workshop was a fun day that where there were some real break through moments. But it was during the following weeks that I found the students more engaged and open as they have started the use the techniques and have all commented on how helpful they’ve been in all aspects of their lives, at school, home and general life. Student feed back was very positive and as their principal I feel they are more open to trusting their teachers who were all present in the day.
